Hi Birding-aussers
I wonder if any of you can help me with a couple of requests.
Firstly, I'm looking for contact details for (John?) Knight who
illustrated the latest edition of Pizzey's field guide. This is to
enquire about the possibility of using a couple of his illustrations in
BirdLife's forthcoming 'Threatened Birds of the World' book.
Secondly, I'm looking for a really cracking photo of a Fairy Pitta, NOT
in the hand.
This is to illustrate an article in BirdLife's World Birdwatch magazine
about the Fairy Pitta site in Taiwan that is threatened with
development. Hugo Phillipps posted some information to Birding-aus about
this issue recently. The government in Taiawan are to make a decision
over the future of the site in October. International interest in this
issue will help the Wild Bird Federation Taiwan, BirdLife partner in
Taiwan's campaign to keep the habitat safe. If I get a really a really
superb photo, I would like to use it as the front cover of the next
issue as this could be of great advocacy benefit to WBFT.
If you could help with either of the above, please email me at the
address below
Many thanks
Richard Thomas
