I caught a little of Groundforce on TV last night (installing a new
garden) and was surprised to see that the garden was aimed at
attracting native birds. It did not appear to be ideal (seemed to be
new hybrid grevilleas, rather than at least some species types which
provide greater protection etc for small honeyeaters).
However it was trying to provide bird perches, shelter and water so was a vast improvement on the usual show of this sort which often ignore native plants completely. It would be nice to think that this approach might catch on. -- Susan Knowles Birding-Aus is on the Web at www.shc.melb.catholic.edu.au/home/birding/index.html To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe birding-aus" (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
