Hi,
    Have just returned from a brief rainforest trip, and it dawned on me that I didn't mention leeches in Queensland. Leeches dont carry human disease in Qld. as far as I know, but can come as a nasty surprise when you pull up your pant legs.
 "Baygon" is a household surface spray,I guess you would have it over there, possibly under a different name, made by Bayer.
 Sprayed on boots, socks, and trouser legs it is very good at repelling leeches.
