Hi Russell, You asked: > All this talk of Kookaburras has prompted me to ask an embarrassing > question... Where can I find Blue-winged Kookaburra near > Brisbane/Sunshine coast? I don't know anywhere around Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast where Blue-winged Kookaburras are regarded as common. If you travel to the Lockyer Valley located west of Brisbane, try around Lake Clarendon & Lake Atkinson (both to the northeast of Gatton) as blue-winged kookaburras have been sighted (& have bred) in their vicinity on an irregular basis in the past.
