BIRDS AUSTRALIA - NORTH QLD GROUP
ANNUAL GET-TOGETHER & AGM

JUNE 10TH - 12TH
QUEENS BIRTHDAY WEEKEND

TINAROO ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION CENTRE
ATHERTON TABLELAND

Join us for birdwatching, talks and lots of socialising. Come for the whole
three days or just for part of it. This is an opportunity for members and
friends to get to know one another and enjoy themselves as well as learn
about birds and birdwatching. Although this is the AGM, main elections are
only every two years and this is an election free year apart from the
position of the Convenor. The actual AGM will be brief and entertaining, so
come and remember what we did or hear about what you missed!

There will be a variety of speakers with the highlight of the weekend being
Sunday night when Dawn and Cliff Frith will present the Australian premier
of David Attenborough's new film about bowerbirds - "The Art of Seduction".

There are excellent facilities at the Education Centre - a large well
equipped kitchen, toilet and shower block and undercover meeting area. The
camping area is close to the waters edge and there are lots of birds! There
are also canoes available to hire for a small fee - it's a great experience
to quietly canoe around the lake watching the birdlife as you go! If you
want to bring your own tent or campervan, there is a charge of $6pp per
night or tents can be hired for an extra $10 per night.

If you only want to come for the day there is a charge of $4pp per day. If
the weather isn't perfect, we will have other activities to keep you
amused, but don't forget to bring your umbrella and a warm jumper, as it
can be very cold in June on the Tableland.
