australian bird that collects blue

hello.
i'm meghan mccloskey in brooklyn new york, usa, and i heard about a bird
you all have down there and it collects things that are blue.  in fact, i
noticed that you have a picture of it at the top of your site pages.  it
appears to be a type of crow.  would you please let me know the name of
this peculiar bird?  and does it collect only blue things?  and does anyone
know why?
