I do not normally enter 'political' debate on
birding-aus but would just like to express my strong agreement with Judy Peet's
last sentence:
We should be wary of becoming too
pedantic when bird welfare is the really important issue.
I thought that the NHT publication was a good step
in the right direction - I was actually quite impressed with it. We should be
encouraging the pollies with approbation, and then quietly educate them as we
go. Dummy-spitting and pedantry will not produce the optimum
results.
