Er, g'day, David Geering's recent mention of Cockatiels in northern Victoria prompted me to think about my weekend (29-30/1/00) around West Wyalong and about 80 km north thereof, where I have spent three weekends a year for the last 7 or so years. Last weekend we saw only one group of about four Cockatiels, whereas we usually record groups of Cockatiels almost continuously (well, every 10-15 minutes or so) through the weekend. Perhaps the birds in northern Victoria have come from central NSW. Has anybody else noted a decrease in Cockatiels this spring-summer?
