How many Birdwatching Tourists (or potential tourists)
are there ?

1
Would the number of the 3 Field Guides and even the
Readers Digest CBOAB sold (say in the last 10 years)
give any sort of indication to the number of people who
are interested in birds ?

One would have to guess
-how many were gifted and never used.
-how many are duplicates (one in the car,one at home)
-how many are replacements for those that fall to pieces.
-how many birdo's own the lot.
-how many replace an earlier edition.

Could the final number be potential Birdwatching Tourists ?

2
Has anyone ever tried to assess how many persons are
members of a Ornithological, Birdwatching, Birdobserving
or Field Naturalists Club, Institute, Union etc.in Oz.

Again the number would have to be reduced substantially
because of dual or more memberships

3
Are there any other pointers ?
e.g. How many people visit Bird Sanctuary's such as at
Qld's Currumbin ?
