The Hudsonian Godwit was still showing well (at the Point Wilson location described by Gil Langfield earlier this week) at 07.45hrs on Wednesday 19 Jan. It was in the company of four Black-tailed Godwits and gave a great opportunity to study the two 'shoulder to shoulder' in good light at reasonably close range. We saw it fly in at arrival and then fly out again after about 30minutes, so had excellent views of the underwing pattern.
