Blue-breasted Fairy-wrens and a charming family of Southern Scrub-robins up
close, plus the eerie night-time calls of Bush Stone-curlews making a comeback,
in Lincoln National Park; finding two Ospreys on their nest at Elliston after
watching one fishing in Waterloo Bay the evening before; flocks of Rock Parrots
in Coffin Bay National Park; Black-eared Miners, Chestnut-crowned Babblers, a
Chestnut Quail-thrush and a dawn chorus of Crested Bellbirds at Gluepot; Ground
Cuckoo-shrikes and Inland Dotterels at Nuttbush; Chirruping Wedgebills (sadly,
not chirruping at the time, but delightful to see anyway), Redthroats,
White-backed Swallows and White-winged Fairy-wrens in the Port Augusta Arid
Lands Botanic Gardens; Red-browed Treecreeper at Steele's Creek during the
Twitchathon; a Tawny Frogmouth on our neighbour's roof in suburban Glen
Waverley; several thousand White-browed and Masked Wood-swallows in the Little
Desert, ...

Probably many, many others with some more time for thought.

Several new ticks, some great looks at birds I hadn't previously seen well or
for a long time, and some wonderful new birding places to plan to revisit.

Safe travelling and great birding to all over Christmas and the New Year.

Regards,

     Jack Krohn
