Hi Michael
It was good to put a face to a name on Saturday during our Apex Park at
Gatton.encounter.
We picked up Australasian Shovellers on Saturday on the body of water to the
left off the Glenore Grove/Lowood Road, not sure what it is called. There
were about half a dozen or so with heaps of Wandering Whistling-Ducks. We
scoped them up not long before dark. I had been seeing them near Willowbank
and Boonah (both near Ipswich SEQ'ld) regularly a bit earlier this year.
We got a pair of Cotton Pigmy-Geese on the top one of those two small ponds
near the Lake Clarendon Wall. Saw the male very clearly through the trusty
Swarovski. They were spooked by a guy wandering out with his kayak less
than a minute after we had confirmed them and minutes before the arrival of
the Republican Monarchs.
Oh! and hearty congratulations on another fine win by the Unleaded Petrels
(back to back).

Cheers
