Hi all,
I don't want to offend anyone, but I am beginning to get a little
exasperated by the volume of pseudo-political, pseudo-philosophical, and
outright garbage content on Birding-aus lately. Everyone has different
opinons which is great, and they should be aired so we can each undergo our
individual processes of continuous reappraisal of our thoughts and
opinions... but this email-list is meant to be about birds - can we try at
least to shift the balance back to that a bit more. I hope this doesn't
sound either holier than thou or like a heap of crap!
So...
I don't think this has been mentioned on Birding-aus yet, although it as
been running hot on the newly established email-list Canberra-birding
or [http://www.topica.com/lists/canberrabirds]
or
Last weekend a Red Knot was seen at the Fyshwick (sewage) settling ponds by
five members of COG, including myself. A rarities report is being submitted
to the COG rarities panel and if accepted it will be the first ever record
of a Red Knot in the ACT. There have previously been four records from
Lakes Bathurst and George about 50 km away over the past 15 years.
Cheers,
Harvey
