Being somewhat of a cynic, this fireworks project reminds me of a press
report regarding a splendid display done a few years ago at the launch of
'Our' new casino here in Melbourne. A lovely pyrotechnic display with
natural gas was used with great effect to roast doves on the wing.
Unfortunately for some of the doves, they were released from boxes at the
same time 'flame balls' from the pyrotechnics hurled themselves in to the
sky. Visions of Terns being launched in to the upper limits of the
atmosphere on the nose of some sky rocket spring to mind.

As to debris from fireworks, I was involved with a display a year or so ago,
that was held on an oval. Apart from numerous small burn marks on the grass
around the actual launching site, there was little further damage. Staff
carrying out the clean up did find some sort of packaging used in the
construction of the fireworks around the park, but it wasn't to much from
memory.

Cheers
