Just returned from the sewage works where after an afternoon of bucketing rain there is a nice cover of water over the ground in an emptied sewage pond. Lots of waders including a Redshank that allowed very close views. Only the second record I'm aware of for the 90's, the other one also at the sewage works when a large pond was emptied in 1991. Considering that the first Australian record of the bird was in Darwin (1970?), it's pretty rare up here. Happy birding Niven ************ P.O.
