Ian Gynther asked on the list for more information relating to
my parenthetical comments about water rats.

I've replied directly to him but did not send a copy to
Birding-aus because it had nothing to do with birds. If you
would like a copy please let me know. I've also got an
extensive list of web references to water rats which may be of
interest.

This raises the question: is there anything like Birding-aus for
other wildlife ? We've had a few postings about mammals this
year (and some on butterflies in 1998) but I can't remember any
reference to a mailing list. Some of us would love there to be
a Wildlife-aus. (The Gould League time-lines project might be a
possibility but I've not looked at it recently - I believe
there's now a $15 subscription.)

Replies to me please and I will compile a consolidated response
to Birding-aus.
