I posted a note in June about an Inland Thornbill imitating a Grey Honeyeater near Yalgoo (between Geraldton and Mount Magnet well north of Perth). Today I was showing a visitor around Bungendore State Forest when I heard an Elegant Parrot. I traced the tree where the call was coming from but no sign of the bird. We went around the Marri tree from all angles when finally I saw an Inland Thornbill making the call. A very very good resemblance of the call. ____________________________________________________________ Frank O'Connor 8C Hardy Road Nedlands WA 6009 Phone : +61 8 9386 5694 ICQ : 14655047 Email : Birding WA http://www.iinet.net.au/~foconnor To unsubscribe from this list, please send a message to Include ONLY "unsubscribe birding-aus" in the message body (without the quotes) |
