Dear birders

Maybe not exciting but Hal Wootten is looking for them - there were 3
Great Crested Grebes on Lake Illawarra Sunday week ago 19th September, and
a Hobby on the road leading to the lake, seen by Sue Kitchen and myself
when returning from the Barren Grounds Raptor Conservation weekend, during
which we saw white morph Grey Goshawk on the escarpment north-east of BG
and Sparrow Hawk at BG. - a great weekend - is this advertising Russell?

Saturday 25 September - I heard Pheasant Coucal calling on Curramoors,
Royal National Park, south of Sydney - also a 'small' family of Wood Duck
at Wattle Flat - only 3 half sized ducklings. It was very quiet at 8 am at
Wattle Flat - only one Topknot Pigeon sitting quietly digesting in a
Cabbage Palm - presence revealed by falling palm seeds denuded of their
flesh.
