G'day All , For those interested in Channel-billed cuckoo recording, the first were sighted for this season here at Byron Bay Saturday 25th Sept . Last year the first I recorded was October 14TH , they remained here until the 31st March , (Fig trees were still fruiting quite heavy ) . No Koels heard or sighted yet. B.T.W, At present I have seven pairs of Eastern Rosellas nesting simultaneously in seven nest boxes within a radius of 50 Mtrs , I originally hung the boxes in different trees , at varying heights and aspects , to offer a choice to one or two resident pairs . In the midst of nesting now , all seem calm and "well behaved " after a lot of sorting out indifferences a few weeks ago .
