>Hi all.
South Australian Ornithologists Association??
Just following up on Anne's note for those who didn't know, The SAOA is the
oldest ornithological group in Australia formed in 1899, making 1999 our
centenary year. We beat the RAOU ( now Birds Aust) by two years ( 1901),
and even that august body started up in Adelaide , South Aust, anyway.
Thank you Anne for pointing out what the letters stand for but I will stick
with the abbreviation, the full name is soooooo long. No doubt that's one
reason why the RAOU was abbreviated to Birds Aust.
Tony.
ps: For those of you who are uncertain as to the full name, RAOU meant
Royal Australian Ornithologists Union ( or something like that), another
mouthful justifiably shortened.
>For those who may be wondering, SAOA = South Australian Ornithologists
>Association.

There's nothing quite like the feeling of seeing a new bird is there?
