Hi Chris et al,

Yes the Queensland Wader Study Group is interested in your information
regarding the
Double-banded Plover north of Cairns. Could you please supply the
name/s of the
observer/s and the date the bird was seen.

Our group is interested in any future sightings of waders out of their
normal
range. We are also very eager to receive information on sightings of
flagged and/or
banded waders and terns. The information we require from the observer
is as
follows:-

Species.
Colour of flag - some terns have coloured bands instead of flags.
Position of flag - upper/lower right/left leg (please also check for
metal band on other leg and inform of position
Location where bird was seen - GPS reading would be appreciated if
possible.
Region - (we can supply this if given the location)
Date.
Observer/s.
Other species associated with.
Any additional comments.

Leg Flag Banding Legend (colour = where banded)
Green - Brisbane/Queensland
Orange - Victoria
Yellow - Northern Western Australia
White - New Zealand (some species banded in New South Wales)
Blue - Japan

Please send to me direct.
