Hi all, took a trip out to the Lockyer Valley, west of Brisbane today with Tom Tarrant and Trevor & Annie Quested. Found two sites for Blue winged Kookaburra, the usual one at Lester Bridge and another at Lake Clarendon to the west. Also a female Green Pygmy Goose with Cotton Pygmy Geese down Greenswamp Road, just northwest of Lake Clarendon, that's one for the Atlas! Altogether probably more than 120 species for the day, with other notable sightings 3 Ground Cuckoo Shrikes and 3 Banded Lapwings together in a turf farm near Atkinson's Dam. Cheers - Paul Walbridge.
PS. The Pygmy Goose had been found by Fred Armbrust earlier in the week.
