Dear Birders,

During the coming SA school holidays (Sept 25 - Oct 10) my wife and I are planning a caravan holiday from Murray Bridge to Loxton to Mildura and return via Hattah Lakes.

Can any birders tell of good birding sites in and around Mildura, say, within and hour's drive. (We don't have a 4wd - yet - that's on the planning board).

Are there any native gardens open to the public? (This is to keep my wife interested)

Can anyone recommend any caravan parks which are near good birding spots?

What is the current level of water in Hattah Lakes - is it worth taking our canoe??
