I've just returned from a work trip surveying birds in the Lower Ovens
Regional Park, on the Murray floodplain between Yarrawonga and
Rutherglen in Victoria.

A few Spring migrants noted there and on adjacent roadsides included
quite a few Rufous Songlarks and Pallid Cuckoos. Horsfield's
Bronze-Cuckoos were calling almost everywhere. Dusky Woodswallows are
back in droves. Cuckoo-shrikes are back (both Black-faced &
White-bellied).

Birds of interest in roadside Yellow Box/White Cypress-pine/Buloke
included several parties of Grey-crowned Babblers and Apostlebirds (both
declining in Victoria, but with small strongholds in the NE); Gilbert's
Whistler.

A full list with location names is available on request (as a zipped
Excel file), and the details will of course be submitted to the Atlas
any time now ....
