Just a note about model names/numbers etc

The Magellan Pioneer has indeed been superseded, as suggested. When I got
mine from BA I was concerned that it was a "Magellan 300", but soon found
out that this is the NEW model, so I'd be surprised if anyone is still
getting PIONEERS from the good folk down in Hawthorn.

I've been happy with mine - yes, it often takes a while to latch on to
enough satellites to get a reading, but this is always worse after moving
states or not turning it on for a few weeks.

Cheers

Russell
