Hi Peter When I saw the Knight's email re seed-eating CP's, I immediately thought of your paper on CP's under figs in Brisbane and was going to mention it when your response appeared! In Townsville it was a common thing to see flocks of figbirds in the canopy and flocks of Peaceful Doves on the ground below when street figs were in fruit. The figbird dropping were almost pure seed and could form a near-continuous carpet of food for the doves. You might also recall Mervyn Cobcroft's article in Sunbird, some time back, on SC cockatoos taking grain (corn, I think) from cow droppings.
