Hi all, I have seen the occasional Australian Raven in 1997 and 1998 in the grounds of Melbourne University, Parkville. It was always a solitary bird, and I identified it by call (with corroboration from the expanded throat hackles when calling). And in may this year, I saw an Australian Raven in the gardens below the Royal Exhibition Buildings on Rathdowne St, and heard a possible Australian Raven at Willsmere Park in Kew, during April, but I'm not confident of this last one. I don't know if the occurrence of Australian Ravens in the city is, as David Geering asks, a winter phenomenon or not, but every time I have seen them here, it has been in the mid-autumn to mid-spring months (if faulty memory serves me). What does everyone else think? Cheers, Michael. Michael Mules
