URGENT PLEASE
Hello all,
The fate of a lot of birds in southeast Queensland hangs in the
balance, with the Qld Government about to make a decision on the Regional
Forest Agreement.
The Commonwealth/States agreement calls for a comprehensive and
representative conservation reserve system, adequate to protect the
biodiversity. If achieved this would preserve much bird habitat that will
otherwise be subject to intensive logging and risk being lost.
Action in the next few days looks like being critical. If you would like
to help, by adding your signature to a plea to be put to the Premier, email
me direct and I'll email information to you.
SE Queensland in this case is from the NSW border to Gladstone, with the
Blackdown Tableland in from Rockhampton added on.
Thanks for your indulgence, birding-aus.
