I'm in the process of calculating optimal times/locations for viewing Chestnut Rails in the Darwin area. It's clear that time of day and tide are the important factors - at Buffalo Creek for instance there would probably be two or three optimum days per month. If anyone out there has kept records of where and when (date, time) they have seen Chestnut Rails up here I'd appreciate if they could send me their records. It doesn't matter how old the records are. I'll post my findings when I have any. Cheers Niven P.S. Letter-winged Kite(s) are back near Fogg Dam. ************ P.O.
