Susan,
I am not aware of any Australian published references to Red-whiskered
Bulbulk's reusing last year's nest. I have no doubt that, in the event
of a succesful nesting, that they use the same location in subsequent
years. There was one pair (marked) that nested in the same small
Cordyline manners-suttoni just outside my window in the Botanic Garden
over at least two separate breeding seasons.
I would be interested in any observations on Red-wiskered Bulbul
especially distribution, numbers and food sources.

A friend has asked me whether Bulbuls reuse last year's nest, in which case
she will avoid pruning the climber they attempted nesting in last season.
(She is aware they are not native but still enjoys their presence.)
Also any suggestions how to discourage Currawongs from slaughtering
nestlings (of any species).
Regards,
Susan Knowles
