Martin, I agree with both Alexandra Appleman and Leanne Knight re the numbers of Apostlebirds in Qld. I have just returned from a two week trip to north-western Queensland from Georgetown west to Karumba and then north towards Kowanyama and back down to Chillagoe and Mareeba. Everywhere I went there were large flocks of Apostlebirds, not the usual dozen or so per group but at least 20-30 per sighting. I recorded them at every stop I made along the way. It will be interesting to hear comments from others around Queensland.
