On 16th June in the suburb of Lewisham in Sydney at 1000 hrs I observed a constant stream of flocks of common starlings flying in a north westerly direction at a conservative a count of 2000+. The flocks consisted of 10 birds to two hundred all flying in the same direction just above rooftop height the time taken for their passing was 15 minutes.
Did anyone else observe this event? Is it an annual migration similar to the northern hemisphere starlings birds?
