Mike, hello,
This is a scrappy note but maybe helps towards a generality.
Most summers I see White- throated Needletails on an almost daily basis.
This summer I have seen them on only four occasions,three times during
Nov/Dec.1998, in each case a single bird The last sighting in Feb.1999, was
of a "flock'" of four W/TNs.
In the past, I have not kept any record of sightings of these birds,. just
been content to watch them sweeping across the sky.,probably the most ariel
of all creatures..... pure poetry to watch.
The sightings were made from my backyard which has wide views from North to
South through West Will keep you posted of future occurrences.
