Hi all
Still atoning for my errors of the other day - for those who really like
to get things RIGHT, here are some clarifications to the information -
partly erroneous - that I posted yesterday. If you have no interest in
Geelong or Ramsar, read no further!
this info from Liz Horler, Wetlands
There is only one Ramsar Site in the Geelong area, it is known as the
"Port Philip Bay (Western Shoreline) and Bellarine Peninsula" Ramsar Site
and includes areas such as Swan Bay, Lake Connewarre State Game Reserve,
Limeburners Bay and the north coast of Corio to Point Wilson (including
Pt Lillias), Mud Islands, Avalon Airport, Metropolitan Farm and the
Werribee Sewage Treatment Plant, and Pt Cook Coastal Park.
Also Limeburners Lagoon and Limeburners Bay are the same place. Limeburners Bay
is the official name, Limeburners Lagoon is the name that
locals use for the area. Limeburners POINT is on the SE side of Geelong
