>From what I have heard, White-backed Swallows used to occur in the western outskirts of Sydney around the Windor and Penrith shires but I have heard of no recent reports in the Sydney area. I was wondering if anyone would know of the most recent reports of them in Sydney. As Rainbow Bee-eaters like the same habitat and still breed in Sydney, I always think that they may still be around but unoticed. They usually do fly higher than other swallows and their call is fairly far carrying. The closest places I have seen them to Sydney, is at Bulga and the Capertee Valley (both places atleast 200 km away). Another question is whether they are supposed to be resident or nomadic in these places?
