This is the kind of stuff that urban legends stem from.
It is like a conversation in "Sleepless in Seattle":
A: "That is NOT true."
B: "I know. But it sounds like it MIGHT be."
There are a number of bird refuges in Perth, but they tend to care for
injured wild birds. They are not inclined to care for previous pets.
None of them has a web site.
