G'day Aus-birders! Just a quick note to inform that yesterday afternoon I found a Noisy Pitta in garden/rainforest outside our cottage at Rush Creek, near Dayboro, Qld. Surprisingly (for the time of year) it was calling at dusk and dawn this morning, I suspect that it is just passing through on a seasonal migration. If it became a permanent resident as it would really be a plus for our friend John Kaminski, who created the rainforest some 18 years ago, so far he has had Emerald Dove nesting here, Wompoo Fruit-Dove, White-headed Pigeon, Whipbirds, Spectacled Monarch and other fauna including mammals and snakes. (Currently I'm praying for my first party of Black-breasted Button-Quail!)
