here's one for the duck experts --- while talking to an ex duck hunter the other day, he told me that there are two distinct forms of Black Duck in the Gippsland area of Victoria. One is a large bird with yellow legs, and its meat is very pale. The other is smaller with green legs and dark flesh. This fellow first hunted ducks sixty years ago, has spent much of his life in wetlands and the bush, and is an intelligent observer of the natural world. He ruled out Mallard hybrids. I believe there are other races of the PABD, do they occur in Australia? Any comments would be appreciated, cheers,
                                                                       Duncan Fraser.
