It sounds like another recipe... ;) It's possibly a colloquial or local name for a quail, but I couldn't find any reference to it in (old) Pizzey amongst the alternative names, nor could I find any trace of it on the Internet. (However, a search for "cord* quail" turned up a few hits for "www.quail.com", which is the website of Quail Electronics who make power cords!)
