Alan Leishman notes the absence of ibis in leech-bearing rainforests, but I
have seen leeches in several northern Victorian (Aust.) wetlands while
doing wetland inventory in 1993.

Several wetlands we visited had the enormous tiger leeches which would
attach themselves to your leg rather disconcertingly when wading. These
invertebrates had beautiful striped body markings and swam sinuosly through
the water. It seems that they are at least available for consumption by
waterbirds even if this hasn't been recorded.
