Phillip, it is standard practice in regional areas to talk in travel time terms rather than distances. "Two hours" means two hours driving time, which in your terms means 150-200 km. For reference purposes, Albany is four and a half hours from Perth, Kalgoorlie and Kalbarri are about 6 hours, Esperance is about 8 hours {assuming you don't stop to look at the malleefowl at Ongerup} and Exmouth is about 13 hours from Perth.
