birding-aus Saw THE THIN RED LINE last night. Incredible! Harrowing and surreal and beautiful all at once. Some deeply intense, poetic sequences. It was shot on location in F.N.Q., although the film is set at Guadacanal, in the southern Solomon Islands!!!!!!! I saw/heard... Red-collared lorikeet, frigatebirds, Black Kites, Helemeted Friarbird, Sacred Kingfisher, Pheasant coucal, Eclectus Parrot, Yellow Oriole, Tawny frogmouth, ... there's also a hornbill and some lory... and a black possum or cuscus I couldn't ID!!! Go and see it... try to identify the fallen parrot fledgling... There you go. LORNE.
