birding-aus The solar eclipse in Perth was 92%. Although there was a significant darkening it did not really get that dark. The birds in the small park outside my office ( Wattlebirds, Singing, Brown and New Holland Honeyeaters, Magpies, Ravens, Doves and Ringnecks ) did not appear to be affected in any way. They were fairly quiet but they normally are at that time and it was a fairly hot day as well. Perhaps someone in Geraldton / Greenough area where the eclipse was 99% would have a more interesting observation. If anyone is interested, pictures of the eclipse are available at the following website: http://sun.livecam.com.au NIGEL SUTHERLAND Divisional Manager Ace Online Pty Ltd Tel: 08 9389 6166 Fax: 08 9386 7118 Mobile: 0412 531 979 E-Mail: Visit the Perth WA Shopping Guide: http://www.perthwa.com.au To unsubscribe from this list, please send a message to Include "unsubscribe birding-aus" in the message body (without the quotes) |
