birding-aus Hi David, A description of the third Black Tern record for Australia,( all seen in NSW), that was seen at Pimelwi Rocks, Boat Harbour 10-17 March 1990 was given in an article by the observer Joy Pegler in the journal "Australian Birds" Vol 24, 5-8, 1990 and the description was accompanied by two photographs taken by Dion Hobcroft. However no comment was given as to possible subspecies.
