Trevor and all

I have seen Scarlet Honeyeaters in all months in Sydney but are more
numerous during Spring (in some seasons they are very numerous if you know
there call). There are fair numbers still present at times during the winter
at Royal NP (south of Sydney) and have seen them in woodland (similar
habitat to Scheyville) in the Doonside area, west of Sydney.

On another note, some birdo's have been discussing about groups of
Channel-billed Cuckoos. I like to wonder if people have had the same
experience with Koels. I have at one time seen 8 Koels together around
December/January flying over the park opposite my place in Seven Hills
(approx. 40 km west of Sydney). Perhaps they may congregate in numbers in
some places but I usually only encounter them in singles or pairs. I have
only seen 6 Channel-billed Cuckoos together at the most in any area in
Sydney. I have seen atleast 20 plus Channel-billed Cuckoos feeding with Pied
Imperial Pigeons on fruiting figs in the Daintree area. Though they were not
all together in the same fig they were all in figs only metres from each
other, but this may be fairly usual in that area.
