birding-aus Hi Annabel, Great news about your Painted Snipe! While it is possible that Painted Snipe have been seen in the Naomi Valley wetlands around Gunnedah in the past I certainly could not find any records since 1960! The nearest I could find was Pilliga Town 27/8/75 I have noted the recorded for the NSW Bird Report and for the NSWFOC Newsletter " unsusua;l sightings"!.
