G'day all I visited lake Linlithgow and other nearby lakes/swamps on Saturday (20km east of Hamilton, Vic). Linlithgow probably only half full and few birds. Lake Kennedy completely dry. Krause's Swamp has plenty of water and at this time of year usually has a few brolgas. This time I counted 32 and another three flying overhead. My previous highest count was 5. From a distance I suspect many of the birds were last spring's young. We really need a good wet year this year.
