I spent a few days in Lamington NP in may 97 and asked the people in the information centre near O'Reilly's what my best chances were for Alberts Lyrebird. They said they'd seen one years ago on the track leading from the parking area here to the beech forest. We started walking this track late afternoon and believe it or not, after about 1 km we found a male Alberts Lyrebird scratching around in the leaflitter. We had excellent views for about three minutes after which it disappeared into the darkening forest as it was close to sunset.
