Hi everybody -

Below is a message we received from Kate LeVering at Texas Uni. If anybody
is willing to help Kate, please get in touch with her directly. (Note that
the scientific name given for the Little Corella is actually that for the
Western Corella).

Thanks,
Hugo

Dear Birds Australia Member / Director,

I am a Zoology graduate student at the University of Texas at Austin in the
US. I am conducting a study of some bird behaviors and their ecological
and morphological correlates using data from the literature and
questionaires sent out to experienced birders. Some of the data I have is
from Australia. I have listed below the Australian birds for which I need
information. The study is a comparative one so I am looking for folks who
have experience with both species in any pair.

1) Crescent Honeyeater (Phylidonyris pyrrhoptera) and
    New Holland Honeyeater (Phylidonyris novaehollandiae)

2) Striated Thornbill (Acanthiza lineata) and
    Striated Pardalote (Pardalotus striatus)

3) Galah (Cacatua roseicapilla) and
    Little Corella (Cacatua pastinator)

The questions asked are fairly short so this would only involve a very
small time commitment on the part of any respondents.

I realize that the general office may not have people experienced in the
birds I am interested in but I would appreciate it if you would forward the
names and e-mail addresses (or if necessary regular mail addresses) of
birders in your organization that might be able to assist me. If you can't
help any suggestion of where I might find this sort of information would be
most welcome.

Thank you for your time and attention.

Sincerely,

Kate LeVering
