Let me put in a plug for a couple of our projects. Get involved in our new
Atlas project and register your property as a regular survey site. You
will build up a picture of what birds occur and when they do so, as well as
contributing to a national bird monitoring project. That way you will
track changes in bird use over the years that reflect vegetation changes,
the effects of predator exclusion and weather patterns.
You can also send us records of breeding birds for the Nest Record Scheme.
Any interested guests can contribute too. The information in the Atlas and
NRS databases is drawn on constantly for research and conservation management.
Send me a message if you want more information.
Cheers, Hugo.
